A message from the Spirit By the Sea Board about going virtual.

Dear fellows,

As I am sure you are aware, the impact of the recent surge of +COVID cases is deeply impacting our communities. Like you, we have had very challenging conversations and have come to the difficult decision that we will have to move the Going Platinum Spirit by the Sea 20th Anniversary Rehoboth Roundup from in person to Zoom.  Recovery literature reminds us act in unity for the interests of our 12-Step recovery communities, follow the directions of experts and do not engage in any controversy outside of our 12 Step fellowships. We are charging $10 for zoom participation for new registrants to assist with the financial loss of needing to cancel with the hotel
Keep an eye out for updates on our social media platforms, website and emails. Our goal is to deliver a meaningful recovery experience and we want to be sure you have all the updated information as to how to access and participate with this coming roundup. If this news is welcoming to folks who were wanting to lead a workshop and or provide entertainment, please reach out to the program committee and the entertainment committee as we are still looking for workshop leaders and entertainers. You can content them at program@rehobothroundup.org and entertainment@rehobothroundup.org. If there are images of art you have made as a result of being in recovery or artifacts from previous roundups, we want to see them, please submit them to the program committee so we can set up a virtual art/archive gallery.
I appreciate your frustration and understanding and really hope this news does not cause distress or discourage you. Let it inspire you to suit and show up for our communities, participate in the next best thing to being in person, meet some new people and who knows, get involved by volunteering for next year’s Roundup Committee (2023)
I hope this email finds you at peace, safe and surrounded by love,
Patrick Dunn (he,him, his) Spirit by the Sea General Chair 2022

  3. Social distancing whenever possible while participating in Roundup activities.
  4. Please do not attend the Roundup if you know you have been exposed, have symptoms or have been diagnosed with COVID over the past 10 days.

Please note that the health requirements above may be in addition to any state and local government-imposed requirements.

We thank you for your cooperation with helping to keep our recovery community healthy and safe.
